9- Will a vasectomy protect against sexually transmitted diseases like HIV/AIDS or venereal disease?

No. A vasectomy cannot protect you from a sexually transmitted disease (STD), including HIV / AIDS and venereal diseases. Vasectomy protects you from fathering a child, only.

Condoms are still the best defence against these diseases. After a vasectomy you are protected against pregnancy, but any sexual encounter that carries the risk of contracting or transmitting infection makes it important for vasectomised men to use protection.
